Prospect Theater Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 1998 by five graduates of Princeton University. Over the past decade, our company has grown to include a network of almost 700 emerging theater artists who have participated in our programming. To date, our production history features almost 30 full productions, as well as numerous “dark nights” productions (which have included many readings and workshops of new plays and musicals).
For ten years now, Prospect has supported an outstanding and diverse group of artists in NYC’s off-off-Broadway scene, whose work has received both audience and critical acclaim. We are a dynamic group in the midst of much growth, as we strive to become an established producer in New York City. Our mission is to create quality theatrical productions that explore the connection between theater’s past and its present, in order to build its future. We hope to provide a forum for artists and audiences to connect and learn from each other, and to foster the work of a vibrant community of both emerging and established artists. We value intelligent, thought-provoking work, which reverberates with history and resonates in the heart.
